Law of Attraction and Jealousy

Law of Attraction
Hari ni masa tengah google, jumpa website The Feel Good Lifestyle ni. Sebenarnya dari tengahari tadi dok google pasal recipes and cooking videos sebab nak start masuk dapur next week. Dari tu, tertengok pulak pasal weight loss. Dari weight loss ternampak pulak post 'Law of Attraction' kat website tu.

Baru semalam bercakap pasal 'Goal penyebab tindakan'. Hari ini jumpa pulak article pasal Law of Attraction. I guess this is the universe (Allah SWT yang Maha Mendengar) giving me a nudge that I need to reinstate my beliefs about myself. That if you 'wish for it, you can get it'.....
And 'you are what you believe'.....

Jealous
Sebelum ni jealous tengok posts member-member kat fb. Jealous sebab rasa diri ni loser. Rupanya 'jealousy is when you count other people blessings, and forget yours'. And it is about self confidence.

Sejak kebelakangan ini, selalu tertanya-tanya kenapalah aku ni dok jealous kat orang. Jeles dan menyampah. Memanglah salah satunya sebab kita tengok dia ada apa yang kita takda. Aku sangat bersyukur dengan kehidupan aku sekarang tapi kenapa aku masih lagi jeles?

Tu yang baru tahu jealousy is to do with my confidence in myself.

Lesson learnt
Improve my self confidence and work on my communication to earn little accomplishments in life.

Goal penyebab tindakan

Semalam pergi Lily Fitness buat zumba toning at 8.30pm. Pergi sendiri, bukan husband antar (bagus, independent!). Sebenarnya, siang hari berpuasa. Kalau sebelum ni mesti buat alasan 'sebab berpuasa di siang hari, lebih baik rehat di rumah untuk cover letih sebab berpuasa'. Sebenarnya OK jek, make sure makan makanan yang betul masa berbuka dan jangan makan banyak-banyak. Hari ni actually rasa fresh bila bangun tidur!

Goal penyebab tindakan?
Tindakan ini mungkin disebabkan aku ada goal untuk kg jadi 69.5 pada pagi Ahad. Pagi tadi timbang pukul 5.00 pagi, berat ialah 70.5kg. Sekilo jek lagi untuk 2 kali timbang. boleh tak ni?
Pastu sebab goal itu juga aku ada idea nak puasa hari Sabtu jugak (puasa Qadha aku memang 6 hari).

Diet vs buffet dinner
Sebelum tu memang tahu ada IEEE dinner this weekend. Masa tu risau lah sebab kita kan tengah berusaha nak turun berat badan, pastu ada dinner pulak. Iskkk.... abislah....

Health target vs kids' event
Hari Sabtu pagi tahun ni ingat nak pergi Piloxing tapi ada pulak Hari Penyampaian Hadiah di SK Jalan 4 (Alhamdulillah, Kasyif dan Jasmin ada dapat untuk matapelajaran terbaik). Hmmm, berbelah bagi pulak. Nak achieve target ke nak attend event anak-anak untuk tunjuk support kat anak-anak?

Puasa hari Sabtu?
Sebelum ni memang tak terpikir nak puasa hari Sabtu sebab duduk rumah kan, banyak dugaannya...Haha!
At the same time, alang- alang tinggal 1 hari (sebelum tu dah niat nak puasa straight 5 hari on working days dari Isnin ke Jumaat) rasa macam nak habiskan terus puasa Qadha, tak payah tunggu hari Isnin. Tapi masih tak sure boleh buat ke tidak.

Then tetiba tadi masa drive on the way to work, datang ilham (thank you Allah) puasa jek hari Sabtu. Which then lead to 'it is not suitable for me to go Piloxing' thus I can attend my kids' event at school. I could regard the IEEE dinner as a celebration for me able to finish my Qadha fasts and I can eat without guilt (but should be selective)

So In sha Allah nak puasa lah hari Sabtu nanti :-)

Rezeki di pagi Jumaat

Alhamdulillah, pagi tadi ada orang bayarkan tol masa on the way nak pergi kerja. Semoga Allah SWT luaskan rezeki insan tersebut and hidupnya diberkati.

What not spread the good deed? So ingat nak buat menda yang sama lepas ni.

Buat masa ni banyak benda bermain di dalam kepala yang mempersoalkan kenapa ada perasaan negatif dalam hati ini. Kenapa ada ego, syak, iri hati, sombong dan sebagainya. Sesungguhnya aku mahu bersedia ke tanah suci dengan hati yang lain daripada yang ada pada hari ini. Aku berdoa semoga Allah bukakan jalan untuk aku mengubati penyakit hati ini sebelum ke tanah suci.

Insulin and Ketogenic diet

14 January 2016
Today is Day 4 of Week 2.
I'm planning to fast this whole week and today is my fourth day, in sha Allah....

Have been reading and googling on insulin and weight loss. Came across ketogenic diet.

I've been taking F1, dates, chia seeds for sahur and when breaking fast. I have small dinner with rice (1 portion), chicken, eggs or whatever dishes cooked for dinner.

Plain water
The hardest part is to consume lots of plain water. I can only consume 1 to 1.5 ltr in the morning depending on how early do I wake up. I can't consume so much when breaking fast because I would feel full after taking F1 and meals. If I feel really thirsty, I would drink 500ml in one go and I will take some time to drink more, and by the time it's already 10pm. You must not drink a lot when you are ready for bed.

I did the ketone stick test yesterday and the result was 'trace' of fat burning.

Some rules under Ketogenic Diet
ALLOWED milk, cheese, yogurt, red and white meat, butter, eggs, and sausages, fruits, vegetables
AVOID flour, chocolates, sweets, potatoes, dried fruits, alcoholic beverages, grains, pasta

I'm not sure what kind of diet I'm on. Actually I'm planning not to follow any diet because
if you're on a diet, one day you'll get off it...
  • I'm targeting to maintain my blood sugar level to keep insulin steady
  • I must avoid large portion
Have I understood the relationship between insulin and weight management? Maybe. Have I figured how to control insulin with my lifestyle? Errrr....no

Tukar credit card

Ni credit card yang dok pakai since 2009 kot. Tak pernah tukar....

Memang ada keep track interest yang kena bayar kat credit card ni, pernah cecah RM400 setahun. Bila dah faham selok-belok penggunaan dan paham camna bank charge interest, dah kurang ke below RM10. Masih ada lagi lah sebab selalu terlupa nak bayar by payment deadline.

Sekarang ni ada macam-macam jenis credit card tapi tak pernah amik pusing sebab kononnya nak setia pada yang satu. Tapi tengok credit card yang baru sumenya macam best jek, banyak privilege dan benefits kepada pengguna. Kad yang kita ada ni cuma ada bagi treat points. Pastu ada annual fee.

Jom tukarrr
Yang boleh terdetik hati nak tukar credit card bila member kata dia dah tukar kepada credit card islamik. Masa tu dalam tahun 2011, tak tahu credit card pun ada yang islamik. Kita pun rasa nak tukar sebab nak bebas daripada bisnes riba tapi tertangguh sebab baru tahu kalau dalam credit card ada instalment, kena settlekan dulu. Memang ada instalment beli vacum cleaner Rainbow tak abis lagi, banyak lak tu so tak mampu nak settlekan. Tak boleh nak cancel lagi, so simpan dulu borang application credit card yang amik kat Maybank Islamic, Seksyen 9, Bandar Baru Bangi. Pastu lupa pasal credit card ni...

Then recently bila go through files, terjumpa balik borang tu. Dah bolehla proceed niat murni ni sebab instalment dah abis. Kita pun pegi bank bulan November 2015, isi borang pastu tunggu respond dari bank. Sampai sekarang takda jawapan. Hmmm.... dalam hati berkata 'agaknya sebab nak buat baik (tak nak terlibat dengan riba'), macam-macam la cabarannya.

Masih tak putus asa
Rasa macam tak payah le tunggu branch Maybank tu jawab, dengar cerita orang lain senang jek nak amik credit card. So semalam survey credit card kat website Maybank, ada 28 pilihan. Nak yang islamik saja so last-last, nak pilih sama ada Ikhwan MasterCard or Ikhwan Visa.

Pre approved application
Bila tengok kat website, ada option untuk pre-approved application so terus call. Alhamdulillah, ada orang angkat dan proses apply pun bermula. Quite simple sebab gaji memang masuk ke akaun Maybank (Alamak! Lupa pulak nak mention apply for Platinum instead of Gold). Takda nak kena hantar borang sebab aku memang pengguna Maybank kot. Kemudian diberi pilihan sama ada nak suh hantar ke alamat rumah, opis atau collect kat branch, aku pilih collect kat branch. Tunggu la 14 hari... kalau takda apa-apa dalam 14 hari memang rasa nak hempuk Maybank ni! Sebab berapa lama nak kena tunggu!!?*&#@

Ada lucky draw untuk pergi umrah kalau spend above RM200 in 1 receipt. Pastu ada charity features: bank akan contribute 0.1% of our spending amount to chosen charity. Bagus betul card ni!

Visa
Kelebihan Visa ialah treatpoints berganda dan cash rebate on petrol and groceries.

Boleh baca kat website Maybank kalau nak tahu in detail. Last-last pilih Visa sebab dah biasa dengan Visa. Sekarang ni sebenarnya rasa patut amik MasterCard.....

Apa-apa pun syukur sebab dah amik tindakan untuk tukar credit card. Nanti kalau credit card Visa baru macam tak fully utilized, apply lagi untuk MasterCard..hehe....

Idea untuk Week 2

Tiba-tiba datang idea nak puasa ganti sepanjang Week 2. Risau pasal metabolism masa puasa nanti. Hope to follow below plans to ensure puasa is in line with my weight loss goal.

Intake
  1. Sahur dengan air masak 1.5 ltr, makan oat dan chia seeds (lebih sikit)
  2. Puasa seperti biasa. Mungkin badan agak lemah sikit pada hari 1 hingga 3.
  3. Berbuka dengan kurma dahulu. Pastu solat Maghrib. Makan F1 dan makanan lain ikut portion. Utamakan buah-buahan, bolehkan carbo mengikut portion kalau tak kenyang after F1.
  4. Minum air lagi 1.5 ltr kalau boleh.
Monitoring
Target nak buat ketone test pada hari Khamis pagi.
Target turun minggu ni dalam 2kg from 72.5kg to 69.5kg by Sunday morning.
Continue Piloxing on Saturday morning, bearing in mind ada IEEE lunch tengahari tu. Kena aware amik makanan yang tinggi protein dan sayuran. Kurang carbo dan manisan.......

Progress Week 1

Total loss Week 1 = -1.1kg!!!

The week started well but I failed on weekends. Ada exercise sekali kat Lily Fitness on Friday and register sekali as club member RM149 (bravo!)

Although I resisted Nasi Briani while accompanying hubby during lunch, I ate a lot for afternoon snacks until I felt so full. I had

  • cekodok_fried and oily
  • keropok_fried and oily
  • ice cream- little nutritional value

I'm afraid to weight myself.

For January, I want to finish reading 'How Not to Get Fat' by Ian Marber to understand influence of insulin in weight management. My aim is to be able to explain the connection between insulin, glucose and weight management.
